Dương Hòa commune: precise location and administrative hierarchy

A verified record gives the name Dương Hòa and states that it is a commune in Hương Thủy town, Huế city, Vietnam. The parent chain — commune, then Hương Thủy town, then Huế city, then Vietnam — is the disambiguating information for this lookup: a place name on its own does not fix a location.

The two recorded pairs are not the same point. A straight-line estimate between them is roughly 17 km, far beyond the precision of either value, so they cannot both mark a single feature such as the commune's administrative centre. The record offers no preference, no qualifier and no statement of what each value was attached to; from these facts alone it is not possible to say which pair, if either, is the commune point.

• Re-open the cited source record and read the qualifiers, rank and history of each coordinate statement; a preferred rank or a deprecated statement would settle the choice.
• Check the commune name and parent chain against a current official list of commune-level units for Huế city, rather than relying on the entity record alone.
• Plot both pairs on a map showing the boundary of Hương Thủy town; the value falling inside the parent area is the better candidate for the commune.
• If a single point is needed for navigation or fieldwork, treat both values as provisional until one is confirmed by an official source with an access date.

Note: the supplied record gives two coordinate values for one entity and does not indicate a preference. This guide does not choose between them.
